ArgusPTZ Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
Good Way Technology Co., Ltd. ("Good Way," "we," "us," or "our") respects and is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information in connection with the ArgusPTZ AI-powered PTZ security camera platform and its related applications, administrator consoles, and SMS notification program (collectively, the "Service").
This Privacy Policy applies to personal information processed by us in connection with the Service, in any form — whether oral, electronic, or written. "Personal Information" means information that enables you to be identified directly or indirectly (either in isolation or in combination with other information).
By using the Service or enrolling in the ArgusPTZ SMS notification program, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of Personal Information:
2.1 Account and contact information. Your name, email address, mobile telephone number, employer or organization name, job title or role, and the username and credentials you use to access the ArgusPTZ administrator console.
2.2 SMS opt-in information. When you enroll to receive SMS notifications, we collect your mobile telephone number together with a record of your consent, including the timestamp of opt-in, your account identifier, the consent text you accepted, and the IP address from which you submitted the consent.
2.3 Service usage information. Information about your interaction with the Service, such as device identifiers of cameras and sensors assigned to your account, configuration of geofences and alert rules, login timestamps, and audit-log events.
2.4 Communications information. The content of support requests, feedback, or other communications you send to us.
2.5 Automatically collected information. When you access the Service or our websites, we may automatically collect technical information such as IP address, browser type, operating system, referring source, and clickstream data.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including delivering security alerts to your devices and to the mobile number you have registered;
- To authenticate you and authorize access to the ArgusPTZ administrator console;
- To deliver transactional SMS notifications you have opted in to receive, including geofence breach alerts and AI object/person detection events;
- To respond to your support requests and communicate with you about the Service;
- To improve, secure, and develop the Service;
- To comply with our legal, regulatory, and telecommunications carrier obligations;
- To enforce our terms of service and protect against fraud or abuse.
4. SMS Communications and Mobile Information
This Section applies to information collected in connection with the ArgusPTZ SMS notification program.
4.1 Purpose of mobile information. Your mobile telephone number is used solely to deliver transactional security alerts and operational notifications from the Service. We do not use your mobile number for marketing or promotional purposes.
4.2 No sharing with third parties for marketing. We will not share your mobile information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties.
4.3 Limited disclosures. Mobile information may be disclosed only to (a) telecommunications carriers and message-delivery service providers (such as Twilio, Inc.) strictly to facilitate the delivery of messages you have requested, (b) governmental or law-enforcement authorities where required by applicable law, court order, or subpoena, or (c) within Good Way Technology Co., Ltd. and its directly controlled affiliates strictly for the operation, security, and support of the Service.
4.4 Opt-out at any time. You may withdraw your consent and stop receiving SMS notifications at any time by replying STOP (or any of OPTOUT, CANCEL, END, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE, REVOKE, STOPALL) to any message you receive from us. Reply HELP or INFO for assistance.
4.5 Charges. Standard message and data rates may apply in accordance with your wireless carrier plan. ArgusPTZ does not charge a fee for messages delivered under the program.
4.6 Consent records. Records of opt-in consent and opt-out events are retained for at least four (4) years following opt-out to comply with telecommunications carrier and regulatory record-keeping requirements.
5. How We Share Personal Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your Personal Information. We share Personal Information only as described in this Policy:
5.1 Service providers. With trusted third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf — such as cloud hosting, telecommunications and SMS delivery, identity verification, customer support, and security operations — and who are contractually required to use the information only for the purposes for which we engaged them.
5.2 Affiliates. Within Good Way Technology Co., Ltd. and its directly controlled global affiliates, where reasonably necessary to operate, support, or secure the Service, and subject to safeguards consistent with this Policy.
5.3 Legal and safety disclosures. Where required by applicable law, regulation, court order, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Good Way, our users, or the public.
5.4 Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to confidentiality obligations and continued protection of your information consistent with this Policy.
We do not share mobile telephone numbers or SMS opt-in data with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes, as further described in Section 4.
6. Data Security
We have implemented physical, electronic, and managerial procedures designed to safeguard the Personal Information we collect, including encryption in transit, access controls on administrator consoles, and audit logging. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data Retention
We retain Personal Information for as long as necessary to provide the Service and for the purposes described in this Policy, and thereafter as required to comply with our legal, accounting, and telecommunications regulatory obligations. SMS opt-in consent records are retained for at least four (4) years following opt-out, as described in Section 4.6.
8. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- Request access to the Personal Information we hold about you;
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
- Request deletion of your Personal Information;
- Withdraw your consent to our processing of your Personal Information, including SMS notifications, at any time;
- Object to or restrict certain processing activities;
- Lodge a complaint with a competent data protection authority.
Requests may be submitted to the contact details in Section 13. We may require verification of your identity before responding to a request.
For users in the State of California, additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) may apply. For users in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) may apply.
9. International Transfers
Good Way Technology Co., Ltd. is headquartered in Taiwan. If you access the Service from outside Taiwan, your Personal Information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in Taiwan, the United States (where our message-delivery providers operate), and other countries where we or our service providers maintain facilities. Where required by law, we put appropriate safeguards in place for such transfers.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for use by businesses and authorized adult users. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided Personal Information to us, please contact us using the details in Section 13 and we will take steps to delete the information.
11. Third-Party Links
Our websites and the Service may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not operated by us. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy notices.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last Updated" date above. If material changes are made, we will provide additional notice as required by applicable law, such as through the ArgusPTZ administrator console or by email.
